What We Offer
Our tutoring helps high school students improve their test-taking skills and achieve a high score on the SAT and ACT examinations.
We also tutor students who are preparing to take the PSAT, the subject tests, or AP tests — although we don’t discuss these other tests in any detail on this website.
We offer individual tutoring and small group tutoring. We tailor our instruction to the particular needs of each student, building his or her test-taking strengths and addressing areas that need attention. We welcome students of all ethnic backgrounds. Although we tutor high school students to help them do better in their regular course work, we do most of our tutoring with students who are preparing to take a college admission exam.
In each area of the SAT or ACT — critical reading, writing, and mathematics — we help the student develop wider and deeper knowledge and skills. Our tutoring enables students to do their very best on the test, and also prepares them to do well in college.
As a community service, we also offer a free 2 hour workshop that introduces students at East Bay high schools to the SAT or ACT tests. We have done these workshops at Skyline High School, Head-Royce, Oakland Tech High School, and at Berkeley and El Cerrito Public Libraries. This summer we are conducting the workshop at UC Berkeley.
